This was my most favourite book as a child and to see it in graphic novel format for a new generation to experience makes me so happy. I really love this and hope others will too!

Already thinking about ways that I can use this fabulous book with students this year. Each student in Mr. Ward's class is given the chance to find their voice in the monthly, then weekly because it's popularity, open mic. The reader meets each student and learns about who they are, and then each one shares their poetry during open mic, as they are comfortable. Hearing their voice and story through their poetry is very powerful and shows that we all have something to share.

I love Marie Lu’s books and I love that this format of her stories makes her books accessible to more readers.

Beauty and the Beast meets fan fiction in this cleverly written YA novel

Just finished this graphic novel and really enjoyed it. I love historical fiction and this was right up my alley. A graphic novel about a young Jewish girl living in France during WWII and she tells the story through the lense of her camera.

A fun, and dare I say charming book about getting what you want, friendship, and love. Fun banter between characters and just the right amount of challenges faced by the character make this a very enjoyable read. Really love this book!

This fascinating graphic novel shares the stories of lesser-known women who did big things to change the world throughout history. The retro looking (and feeling) cover caught my attention and I'm so glad I read it. I know so much more about these important women and I'm better for it.

This book is definitely worthy of all the praise it has received. An intriguing story about surrounding Dia de Muertos where Yadriel is trying to prove himself to his family, who has rejected him being a brujo because he is transgender and gay, that he should be part of special rites of this day. Interweaving this with a mystery around the death of two teens and their spirits, this story is a winner. 

There are so many things to discuss within this fantastic book- poor vs rich, peace vs war, loss, forgiveness, family loyalty, and magic are just a few of the elements of this fantasy book. A great read and well worth the time!
