Every night around midnight, Death-Cast calls every person who'll die that day. The receiver of the call doesn't know when or how they will die that day, only that they potentially have up to 24hrs left to live. Teens, Mateo and Rufus both receive this phone call and then must decide how they will spend their last day. Devastatingly sad, but also full of hope and love. I loved this book and how it really makes you think about how you would choose to spend these last hours of your life.

A bomb has been set off in a school and there are 6 kids trapped inside, all with reasons to be the bomber. As we meet and learn about each of the characters, we learn about each one’s struggles and the demons they face. An amazing thriller that is impossible to put down.

Imagine a world where once you turn 13 your parents have the option to have you unwound if you haven't turned out the way they want. Unwinding is the act of taking apart your body and using the parts on others as needed. You do not die, you are simply unwound. In this dystopian novel, Shusterman keeps the reader on the edge of their seat as three Unwinds try to escape their destiny, and break the rules of this postapocalyptic world they live in.

I can't put it into words how grateful I am for this graphic novel. 150 years of Canadian history retold through the eyes of indigenous people. I know that the history I learned in school was the Eurocentric perspective and this book taught me so much and gave me an entirely different view of our history. This book should be in every grade 4+ classroom and every Canadian home. Brilliantly told by numerous #ownvoice indigenous writers/illustrators, this book should be part of our curriculum and reading list on Canadian history. This book will stay with me for a long time, and I hope it will open the minds of many and force us to realise we must do better. I also love that it is in the format of a graphic novel, making our history more accessible to people.

It makes me so happy when a sequel lives up to the wonderful first book, as did Tokyo Dreaming. More royal fun and love in this fantastic sequel.

Angeline Boulley has done it again. I LOVED the Firekeeper's Daughter and had high hopes for this one and she didn't disappoint. Not only is it a fantastic story, but yet again I have learned so much about indigenous culture and traditions. A must read!

This book has sat in my TBR pile for far too long, but it's worth the wait. Ana, Iridian, Jessica and Rosa are sisters who live with they sometimes-abusive widowed father. One night Ana falls to her death while trying to sneak out. This throws the family in more turmoil and despair and a year later things are not going well for the family. The sisters also start to believe that Ana's spirit has returned and is trying to give them a message. Will they be able to figure out what she's trying to tell them?

Love this book so much. Fun, romantic and a great storyline. Izumi discovers her unknown father is a prince in Japan and in that moment her life changes forever.
