This modern high school teen version of the story King Henry Vlll is brilliantly told and so much fun to read. We meet Henry, aka the most most popular kid in school, who can't seem to keep a steady girlfriend and is now on girl number 5 and is starting to question that relationship too. Told through the eyes of Henry's best friend, and former girlfriend, Cleves, the sass and highschool hyperbole makes this book such fun to read. Capin has woven this historical story exceptionally well into this high school story of love, deception, death, and might I even say, girl power. Read it, loved it, and look forward to reading it again.

A fantastic graphic novel that truly shows good vs bad and how good prevails in dark times. An important reminder these days!

When I was in high school in the 90s, I have a very distinct memory of 3 girls who had moved to Canada from the war torn countries of Bosnia And Serbia. They hated each other with such a passion that I often wondered what had happened in their countries that would leave them hating each other so much. Now I get it. This book opened my eyes to a moment in history that I knew very little about. The war and genocide that happened was horrific and the trauma these people lived through is unimaginable. A thoughtfully and honest written novel about a Bosnian Muslim girl and the horrors she and her family endured during Bosnian war.

Harper has always known her mom used a sperm donor to have her. One day she gets a comment on her Instagram that she and this commenter's friend look so similar. From there unravels a story of family, trust, relationships and friendship that I won't soon forget. I will admit that when I read in the blurb that Harper discovers 42 half siblings in her search for information about the man whose sperm her mother used, I thought that this story line has been done before and could it actually be that original. The book also has an amazing example of foreshadowing- at one point one of the characters makes, what I thought was, a totally bizarre comment and then much later I was blindsided with a twist I never saw coming. I'm so glad I gave this book a chance because it's an incredible story.

This book is a definite "wow" book. Exquisitely written in verse, I finished this beautiful novel in one sitting. Michael is gay and we experience his story through his eyes as he grows from child to university student and lives his journey to figure out his identity and to accept himself. Michael expresses himself best through poetry and the reader learns more about him and his journey through the poems that he writes, that are sprinkled through this story. An important read about identity, self worth, self love, and acceptance.

Wow, wow, wow!! This book is a must have in all schools and homes with teens and pre-teens. A stunning graphic novel about depression and anxiety and how this lovely character worked to overcome these feelings.

An exhilarating, fast-paced and twisty YA book that I really enjoyed. Nora grew up most her life with her con artist mom living con after con. When life is finally beginning to feel more settled with her older sister, and her mom is in prison, she lands herself in a dangerous situation and must pull off one last con to save her life. Full of crime, cons, and heart, this is sure to be a book many will enjoy.
