I have had this book on my reading list for a long time and it is such great story. Nolie has come to Journey's End, Scotland to spend the summer with her scientist father who is there studying the Boundary, a wall of fog that sits off the shores of the town. She soon learns the history and stories about the Boundary as she becomes friends with local girl Bel. Strange things start happening and a tragic event happens which forces Nolie and Bel to question history and how to undo potential disaster. A wonderful page turner full of suspense and mystery.

This book will stay with me for a long the time. The beautiful poetic language of this novel-in-verse juxtaposes the horrors that Betita and her mother face when they are put in an immigration detention centre at the border. I have heard these stories before but never in such detail.

I was totally enthralled with this graphic novel, and I suspect that many of my junior high students will be too. I now want to read the novel as well. Reynolds is a powerful storyteller who deserves all the praise he got for this graphic novel, and the original novel.
