Another Emily Henry book I really enjoyed reading. Two rival authors end up spending a summer in the same small town as neighbours. They challenge each other to step out of the "comfort" genre of writing and write in the genre of the other. Both sweet and heartwarming, this was a lovely book to spend time reading this summer.

Malibu Rising is the story of the four children of mega-star Mick Rivera. Told around the events of one day, with throwbacks to moments in their childhood that help the reader understand the current-day events, this story is an addictive page-turner.

I think that reading Emily Henry's newest novel while being at my own happy place this summer made me enjoy this book so much more. A group of friends have spent most of their adult years meeting up at their "happy place", a cottage on the coast, once a year. This will be their last year there and each of them are hiding their own secrets from one another in hopes of not impacting the happiness they want to share during their last time here together. A fantastic summer read!

It's summer so I was looking for a great summer reads and this was the perfect intro to Emily Henry and her books. Loved how she developed the story between Alex and Poppy through their travel adventures over the years. A great read you should check out!

I love this book so, so much. It's one of those books I would love to read again for the first time to fall in love with it again. I mostly read YA and MG books but took a break with this one, and I'm so glad that I did. Set in the 60s, scientist Elizabeth Zott faces life with a practicality and a scientific perspective rarely seen, and especially in women at that time. Love, parenting, work, loss is experienced through a scientific lens. The outcome is a brilliantly written, hilariously funny story with so much heart and soul. Definitely a must read!
